Kathmandu Durbar Square is an excellent craftsmanship of Nepalese art and architecture at its astounding best. The architecture dates back to the12th and 18th century representing the Malla dynasty. Kathmandu Durbar Square is a cluster of ancient temples, palaces, courtyards, streets and is known to be the social religious and urban focal point of the city.

Swayambhunath (Monkey temple) getting its name by a large influx of monkeys all around the temple. This particular temple is a best example of cultural mix and holds religious significance for Hindus and Buddhists alike.

The Boudhanath stupa is one of the two largest stupas near the city (another is swayambhunath). It has been for centuries the most important land mark along the ancient Tibet – Kathmandu trade route and in present day it is regarded as the national symbol of Nepal. There are more than 45 monasteries around the main stupa built by Tibetan people and also considered as home of many Tibetan refugees. You will certainly indulge the impressive architecture in holy and peaceful environment.

Situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most revered temple of Lord Shiva. The temple courtyard and the surroundings are filled with miniature temples of numerous Hindu deities providing a paradise of a look to the entire area. Entrance to the central shrine is restricted to Hindus, but you can obtain great views of the complex from the cool and quiet forest paths above the river, themselves leading to secluded shrines. Pashupatinath is also a popular cremation site, and the smoke rising from the temple banks carries a distinct whiff of mortality – grisly but an important cultural tradition.
